Daughter Shell and Will and Fiancé’s visit in New York) brings back memory, thanks,
Will (and Erin
and Shell) (Occasional ramblings by "ancestor" -- first
immigrant to
Canada – Wilhelm--, for potential children's child,
philosophically inclined, a
lover of books, good books and a thinking young person. Some of
the best
of the books I have should be a good start towards a future
professor in the
extended family. Otherwise, we need good carpenters (Joseph,
the father
of Jesus), plumbers, loggers, house and furniture, etc.
builders. Farmers,
especially, practical people in short ...)

I was exactly to the month Shell's age when I was in New York;
education: Grade
12/13 but trained as Forestry Worker, which gave me a pay cheque
if and when
needed. Ich wuensche euch eine gute Reise und Heimkehr. (I was
in New York,
summer, 1957)

Had talk with Ahmed, one of the Egyptian pharmacists here. Can
you imagine, a
land that has no forests! You cannot have a chain of
pharmacies, but own
only two, maybe three, have a good income but cannot get filthy
rich, as
here. Apotheker, similar to Germany, no business store with it,
just the
pharmacy. In Egypt, the rich live behind high walls, the middle
class in
apartments, and the real lower in shacks ...He has family and
children in Egypt
and sees them, what? once or twice per year. He was four years
in Saudi
Arabia where the temp. goes up to 60 degrees. He is Moslem and
could not accept
my coffee I drank in Ellen's house while we looked at my
pictures. One of the
finest corner in Kornbach is perhaps my sister Trina and her
husband's house,
nestled against the forest with a little "Weiher" and large
"Buche"
on the other side of little pond. The forest is right behind
them. 
You couldn't ask for a finer place. In front is some, a, field. 
The place
finally sold, after years on the market. As you know, I am a
very strong
promoter of retaining roots and language and tradition. 
Lorraine and
Husband and children should really aim to buy back their
ancestral place and we
need to do likewise. With the $250,000 my four women now earn
(and I am
fully aware what life can have in store for a person -- I have a
book, written
by a rabbi: when bad things happen to good people; bad things
happened to me,
by the "cheaters" but it all always ended up positive for me
while my
cheaters died, got sick, or were punished in some way, everyone
of them. 
It has to do with the fact that I have a guardian angel that led
and guided my
life, gave me my biggest desire to be educated in the truest
sense of the word,
and then put the brakes on for me in making it big in industry
(which is now
left to one of my son-in-law: I am in the unenviable position
that if one of my
four daughters, plus my 30 year younger wife, manage of a
pharmacy with good
salary and a very intelligent woman, can still find herself a
super-duper guy,
and I have and am instructing here how to conduct herself when I
am gone --
read a book years ago: "Medieval People by Eileen Power. This
large farmer
and rich man marries a young woman. He is a realist and a very
intelligent man, like this one you are reading now. He tells
her wife how
she must act and live and run the household and deal with the
servants of the
kitchen and fields. Indeed, he even instructs her what to wear
when
attending church, so as to remain a credit to him, her late
husband, and to the
name of the family. ((If you read Chaucer's Canterbury
Tales,14th
century, fun stuff, yet very revealing about the historical
climate and
development in Europe, you will have an idea of the life, time,
customs, etc.
of late Medieval people, partly modern and partly old-fashioned
...

by the way, in connection with the punishment of my enemies: the
last men who
got punished: I dealt with Bob, an 86 year old to buy property,
eleven acres.
Bob is a man one could trust with one's wife, a sack of gold and
the finest
food money can buy and, if instructed, to neither touch anyone,
you know you
could trust him. But somehow, for whatever reasons, on this
occasion, Bob
broke his word, even though the lawyer had instructions sitting
on his desk for
about two weeks. Bob ended up waiting for four days in a dry
well on his
mining property, wondering if this may be the end of his life on
this Mother Earth. 
I was traveling in Vancouver, or I am sure we would have gone
into action much
sooner. -- I have recently decided to go vocal with this
cheating part of
those I met throughout the years, so as to warn future business
partners, etc.
